First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at 7 different blood markers to see if they can better tell apart severe bacterial infections from viral infections in young children with fever. About 983 children aged 7 days to 36 months participated. The goal is to find a combination of markers that works better than current tests like CRP and procalcitonin, helping doctors make quicker and more accurate treatment decisions.
