First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at the sticky layer of germs (biofilm) that forms on central venous catheters in intensive care patients. Researchers will measure how much biofilm is on the inside and outside of the catheter. The goal is to learn more about these infections so better prevention methods can be developed. About 150 catheters from adult ICU patients will be studied.
