First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests a new biodegradable device to close a common heart hole called PFO in people who have already had a stroke or mini-stroke. About 258 adults aged 18-65 will get the device or a standard treatment. The goal is to see if the device safely seals the hole and prevents future strokes, possibly reducing the need for long-term blood thinners.
