New study tracks brain chemicals after severe head injury

NCT ID NCT04565119

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at 300 adults with severe traumatic brain injury to see how low oxygen levels in the brain affect certain proteins (biomarkers) released after injury. Researchers will measure these proteins in blood samples to better understand brain damage. The goal is to improve future treatment, not to test a new therapy.
