This study tested whether adding the drug bezlotoxumab to standard treatment could prevent serious outcomes like organ failure, infection return, or death in people with a severe C. diff infection. The trial included 44 adults who were identified as high-risk using a special scoring system. Researchers compared the drug to a placebo to see if it reduced these complications within 40 days.
