Summary

This study tested whether adding the drug bezlotoxumab to standard treatment could help people with a serious gut infection called C. diff. The trial included 44 adults at high risk for complications like organ failure, relapse, or death. Researchers used a special score to identify these patients and gave them either bezlotoxumab or a placebo to see if the drug reduced these bad outcomes by day 40.
