First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study is testing a new type of PET scan to see if it can tell the difference between leftover cancer and swelling caused by radiation in people treated for head and neck cancer. About 180 adults who finished radiation therapy will get this special scan 3 months after treatment. The goal is to improve how doctors decide if more treatment is needed.
