First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested whether a smartphone-based lottery incentive program could help people with high blood pressure take their medication more consistently. About 400 adults with poorly controlled blood pressure were randomly assigned to receive the lottery program or usual care for 6 months. The goal was to see if the program improved medication adherence and lowered systolic blood pressure.
