First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested if a smartphone-based lottery incentive could help people with high blood pressure take their medication more regularly. About 400 adults with poorly controlled high blood pressure were randomly assigned to either receive the lottery program or usual care for 6 months. The main goal was to see if the program led to a meaningful drop in systolic blood pressure.
