New study to uncover why younger diabetes patients may lose Insulin-Making cells faster
NCT ID NCT07574138
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study will follow 296 Vietnamese adults with type 2 diabetes for one year to compare how quickly beta cells (which make insulin) decline in people diagnosed before age 40 versus those diagnosed at 40 or older. Researchers will measure blood markers like C-peptide and HbA1C at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months. The goal is to understand if early-onset diabetes leads to faster loss of insulin production, which could guide future treatments.
