NCT ID NCT02627443
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This early-phase trial tests whether adding an experimental drug called berzosertib to standard chemotherapy (carboplatin and gemcitabine) can better treat ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer that has returned and spread. The study involves 35 adults with platinum-sensitive disease. The main goal is to find the safest dose and watch for side effects, while also tracking how well the tumors respond.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Berzosertib (M6620, VX-970) combined with carboplatin and gemcitabine hydrochloride
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a more effective treatment for recurrent ovarian, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer that has spread.
What could go wrong
This is a very early Phase 1 trial with only 35 participants, focused on safety and dosing. It is too small and early to know if the combination works better than standard chemo, and side effects may be significant.
