Could a common cholesterol pill help fight a rare kidney disease?

Summary
This study tests whether bempedoic acid, a drug already approved for high cholesterol, can safely slow kidney disease in people with ADPKD, a genetic condition that causes cysts to grow in the kidneys. About 120 adults with rapidly progressing ADPKD will take either the drug or a placebo for two years. The main goal is to check safety and tolerability, with early signs of effectiveness also measured.
