Diet hack boosts cancer immunotherapy in new trial

NCT ID NCT07564219

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether raising a natural body chemical called beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) — through a low-carb diet or a special drink — can safely improve the effectiveness of immunotherapy in people with multiple myeloma. About 45 participants will be randomly assigned to one of four intervention groups or a control group. The goal is to see if boosting BHB levels helps the immune system fight the cancer better without causing serious side effects.
