First human tests begin for experimental COPD treatment

Summary
This early-stage study is testing the safety of a new drug called BBT002 in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Researchers will give increasing doses to healthy volunteers and then to people with COPD to see how their bodies handle the drug and check for side effects. The main goal is to determine if the drug is safe enough for further testing, not to treat the disease at this stage.
