NCT ID NCT06532734

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This pilot study is checking if people with eating disorders who have been purging (vomiting or ruminating) for at least 5 years have developed Barrett's esophagus, a condition that can lead to cancer. Researchers will use a simple, non-endoscopic device called EsoGuard to collect cell samples from the esophagus. The study aims to enroll 25 adults aged 18-65 who are admitted to a specialized eating disorder center.
