First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special diet that promotes a healthy mix of gut bacteria can improve weight loss and eating habits after bariatric surgery. About 60 adults who are having weight-loss surgery will be split into two groups: one gets standard nutrition advice, the other gets advice focused on gut health. Researchers will track changes in gut bacteria, food preferences, taste, and overall health for one year after surgery.
