Heart study tests new balloon treatment against standard stents

Summary
This study compares two procedures for treating blockages where heart arteries split into branches. Researchers are testing whether a drug-coated balloon works as well as or better than the standard drug-coated stent. The study will enroll 321 patients with coronary artery disease who need a procedure to open their blocked arteries. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the balloon treatment, the stent treatment, or a standard approach, and their artery health will be checked 6-9 months later.
