Seeing less, balancing better? new study tests Vision-Restricted training for seniors

NCT ID NCT07554118

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a 2-week balance training program with limited vision can help adults over 65 improve their stability. Participants will practice on a moving platform, either with full vision or with vision restricted, to see if relying more on body sensations (touch and pressure) leads to better balance. The goal is to understand how the brain uses different senses to control posture, which could inform future fall-prevention strategies.
