Lung wash test could unlock better diagnosis for scarred lungs

NCT ID NCT07208201

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at how analyzing fluid from the lungs (bronchoalveolar lavage) can help doctors tell apart different types of interstitial lung diseases, a group of conditions that cause lung scarring and breathing problems. Researchers will study 66 adults suspected of having these diseases. The goal is to see if the cell patterns in the lung fluid match up with CT scans and help guide treatment.
