Scientists hunt Leukemia's origins in newborn cord blood
NCT ID NCT05014165
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study examines stored umbilical cord blood from 300 children who later developed leukemia. Researchers will check the cord blood for the same genetic changes found in the children's leukemia cells. The goal is to understand how and when these changes first appear before birth, which could lead to a screening test for early detection.
