First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at a dangerous bacteria called Bacillus cereus that can cause severe infections in premature newborns, with death rates up to 30%. Researchers will analyze the DNA of 40 bacterial samples from infected babies to identify which genetic traits make the bacteria more deadly. The goal is to find risk factors for death and improve treatment for these vulnerable infants.
