First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a single 2-gram dose of azithromycin to pregnant women before they start induced labor can lower the chance of infection for both mother and baby. Researchers will enroll 400 women in their third trimester who are having labor induced for medical or elective reasons. The goal is to see if this simple preventive step reduces serious infections like chorioamnionitis and wound infections.
