First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study tests whether placing a soft tissue matrix over a nerve in the arm during reconstructive surgery can prevent nerve pain and numbness. About 80 head and neck cancer patients having a radial forearm free flap will be randomly assigned to receive the matrix or standard closure. The goal is to see if the matrix reduces long-term nerve-related pain and improves sensation.
