First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether placing a soft tissue matrix over a nerve in the arm during reconstructive surgery can prevent long-term nerve pain and numbness. About 80 adults with head and neck cancer who need a forearm flap will be randomly assigned to get the matrix or standard closure. The goal is to see if the matrix reduces nerve-related pain and improves sensation at 6 months.
