Scientists peek inside pregnancy cells to predict complications
NCT ID NCT04443660
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at how two natural cell processes — autophagy (cell cleanup) and apoptosis (cell death) — change during pregnancy. Researchers measured these in 97 pregnant women, including those at risk for complications, to understand how their balance might affect pregnancy health. The goal was to gather knowledge, not to test a treatment.
