Nerve block may cut pain and nausea after Weight-Loss surgery

NCT ID NCT07104825

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether an extra nerve block during weight-loss surgery can lower pain, nausea, and the need for pain medication in the first three days after surgery. About 200 adults having sleeve gastrectomy or gastric bypass will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or an additional nerve block. The goal is to improve recovery and reduce reliance on opioids.
