Smart device keeps kids' breathing tubes safer, cuts nurse workload

NCT ID NCT06965400

First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether an automatic device (IntelliCuff) is better than manual checks for keeping the cuff pressure of breathing tubes in the right range for children in intensive care. 32 children on ventilators were monitored for 24 hours with each method. The goal was to see how often pressure went too high or too low, and how much nurse time was needed. Results could help reduce complications and free up nursing staff.
