First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested whether an automated oxygen adjustment device (FreeO2) could reduce how long people with a COPD flare-up stay in the hospital, compared to manual oxygen adjustments. Only 17 people participated before the study was stopped early. The goal was to see if the device could safely speed up recovery and lower the need for intensive care.
