Robot oxygen helper aims to get COPD patients home faster

NCT ID NCT03835741

Summary

This study tested if a device that automatically adjusts a patient's oxygen levels could shorten hospital stays for people with severe COPD flare-ups. It compared the automated device to the standard method where nurses manually adjust oxygen. The goal was to see if better oxygen control helps patients recover and leave the hospital sooner.
