Scientists map the autistic brain in landmark study

NCT ID NCT01031407

Summary

This completed study aimed to better understand how the brain works in people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Researchers studied 678 participants, including people with ASD, healthy volunteers, and their parents, using interviews, thinking tests, brain scans (MRI/MEG), and DNA samples. The goal was to link specific thinking patterns and skills seen in autism to brain activity and genetics, without testing any treatments.
