Scientists scan brains and collect DNA to unlock Autism's secrets

NCT ID NCT01031407

Summary

This study aimed to better understand how autism spectrum disorders affect brain function and thinking by observing participants, not treating them. Researchers enrolled 678 people, including those with autism, healthy volunteers, and their parents, to complete interviews, thinking tests, brain scans (MRI/MEG), and provide DNA samples. The goal was to link observed behaviors and skills with brain activity and genetics to learn more about the condition.
