NCT ID NCT07273864

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding ear acupuncture (with tiny press needles) to standard care and nerve stimulation could help people with severe brain injury wake up faster. Sixty patients with a low level of consciousness were split into two groups. Both got usual treatments, but one group also got ear acupuncture with daily massage by family members. The researchers tracked awakening rates and recovery scores over 8 weeks.
