NCT ID NCT03390751

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether medications with a high atropine load (a measure of certain drug effects) increase the risk of confusion after hip fracture or joint replacement surgery in older adults. Researchers tracked 161 patients and assessed confusion using a standard scale. The goal was to help doctors choose safer drugs during and after surgery to reduce confusion, hospital stays, and long-term complications.
