Double defense for young eyes: drops and lenses team up to curb severe nearsightedness
NCT ID NCT07406399
Summary
This study tested whether using low-dose atropine eye drops together with special soft contact lenses works better than eye drops alone to slow the worsening of severe nearsightedness in children. It involved 120 Chinese children aged 6-12 with high myopia, comparing the combination treatment to two other groups using eye drops with regular glasses. Researchers measured changes in eye length and prescription over 24 months to see which approach was most effective at controlling progression.
