NCT ID NCT07406399

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 11, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tested whether combining low-dose atropine eye drops with special soft contact lenses works better than eye drops alone to slow the progression of severe nearsightedness in children. 120 Chinese children aged 6-12 with rapidly worsening high myopia were randomly assigned to receive either the combination, eye drops with regular glasses, or a weaker eye drop with glasses. Researchers measured changes in eye length and prescription over 24 months to see which approach was most effective.
