Summary
This study is testing a new surgical tool designed to treat atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) while a patient is already undergoing planned heart surgery, like a valve repair or bypass. The device uses electrical pulses to create scar tissue in the heart to block the faulty electrical signals causing the irregular rhythm. Researchers will check if this procedure is safe and effective at controlling the irregular heartbeat for at least six months after surgery.
