Could a vitamin a drug boost breast cancer treatment before surgery?

NCT ID NCT04113863

Summary

This study tested whether adding ATRA (a vitamin A-based drug) to standard hormone therapy (anastrozole) could better shrink tumors before surgery in postmenopausal women with early, hormone-sensitive breast cancer. Participants took the medications for four weeks before their scheduled surgery. The trial aimed to see if the combination caused more cancer cells to stop growing compared to the standard therapy alone.
