Scientists decode Eczema's genetic fingerprints in major skin study

NCT ID NCT05436535

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at the genes in the skin of 433 people with eczema (atopic dermatitis) to find patterns that explain why some have mild symptoms and others have severe symptoms. Researchers collected skin samples and tracked how these patterns changed with standard treatments like steroid creams and dupilumab. The goal was to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
