New combo therapy aims to halt lung cancer spread in its tracks

NCT ID NCT07379476

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding local ablative therapy (such as radiation) to the standard drug osimertinib can better control advanced EGFR-mutant lung cancer. About 64 adults with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer and up to 3 remaining active tumor sites after 3-6 months of osimertinib will be randomly assigned to continue the drug alone or add local therapy. The main goal is to see if the combination improves the chance of staying cancer-free for 18 months.
