NCT ID NCT06723392

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether treating pregnant women who have bacteria in their urine but no symptoms can lower the chances of preterm birth, stillbirth, or having a baby that is too small. About 1,134 pregnant women in seven countries will be randomly assigned to receive antibiotics or a placebo. The goal is to find a low-cost way to improve newborn survival in low- and middle-income countries.
