Mayo clinic launches study to uncover hidden triggers of heart symptoms in birth-defect patients

NCT ID NCT05122962

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study aims to find out why people with certain congenital heart conditions, like Tetralogy of Fallot, develop symptoms such as shortness of breath and palpitations, and how their heart structure changes over time. Researchers will use imaging and exercise tests in 300 participants to link heart remodeling to arrhythmias and reduced aerobic capacity. The goal is to better understand the disease, not to test a new treatment.
