Can a simple gum treatment help diabetics control blood sugar?

Summary
This study looks at whether adding Arestin (tiny antibiotic beads) to standard deep cleaning can improve gum healing and blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes and gum disease. About 42 participants will receive either deep cleaning alone or deep cleaning plus Arestin. The goal is to see if the combination leads to better gum pocket closure and lower blood sugar and inflammation.
