This early-phase study tests whether adding Arestin (minocycline microspheres) to standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) improves gum healing and blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes and moderate to severe gum disease. About 42 participants will be randomly assigned to receive deep cleaning alone or deep cleaning plus Arestin.
