New pill may shield kidneys from dye injury during heart surgery

Summary
This study tests whether a new drug called APX-115 can prevent kidney injury caused by contrast dye used during heart procedures. About 280 adults with heart disease will receive either the drug or a placebo before their procedure. The goal is to see if the drug reduces kidney damage and is safe.
