Smartphone apps slash hospital returns for liver patients

NCT ID NCT03564626

Summary

This study tested whether smartphone apps could help people with cirrhosis avoid returning to the hospital soon after discharge. Researchers gave 232 patients and their caregivers apps to track symptoms like confusion, pain, and sleep problems. They compared these patients to others receiving standard care to see if the apps reduced preventable return hospital visits within 30 days.
