Can antioxidant pills boost skin and blood carotenoids to improve cardiometabolic health?
NCT ID NCT07748468
First seen Aug 05, 2026 · Last updated Aug 06, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether taking antioxidant-rich supplements for 12 weeks can improve skin and blood carotenoid levels, antioxidant status, and cardiometabolic health in overweight and obese adults aged 21-70. Participants maintain their usual diet while adding either LifePak Element or LifePak Optimal daily. The study measures changes in skin carotenoid scores, blood carotenoid concentrations, and total antioxidant capacity to see if these supplements offer measurable benefits.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Antioxidant-rich dietary supplements (LifePak Element and LifePak Optimal)
- What this could lead to
- If effective, these supplements could support better antioxidant status and cardiometabolic health in overweight and obese individuals, potentially informing dietary recommendations.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage trial with a modest sample size, and results may not translate to broader populations. Supplements may have limited impact on cardiometabolic outcomes.
