Antibiotic shield: simple pill may stop infections after bladder leak treatment
NCT ID NCT07501065
First seen Apr 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving women a single dose of antibiotics during a clinic procedure for stress urinary incontinence (urine leakage) can lower their chance of getting a urinary tract infection (UTI) afterward. About 150 women will be randomly assigned to receive either the antibiotics or no antibiotics, and researchers will track who develops a UTI within six weeks. The goal is to find a simple way to make this common procedure safer.
