First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looks at 800 children with mild open fractures to see if a single dose of antibiotics works as well as longer treatments to prevent infections. Participants will receive either one dose, 24 hours, or 24 hours plus 5 days of oral antibiotics. The goal is to find the safest and most effective way to prevent infections while reducing unnecessary antibiotic use.
