Summary
This study tested whether a single dose of tocilizumab, given right before or after removing a failed kidney transplant, is safe and can reduce harmful immune reactions that make a second transplant difficult. 18 adults who needed their failed kidney removed and hoped for another transplant took part. The main goal was to check for serious infections after the procedure, while also seeing if the drug lowered anti-HLA antibodies that block future transplants.
