Scientists search for clues in blood of back pain patients

NCT ID NCT07396194

Summary

This observational study aims to understand how certain immune proteins and a specific gene are related to ankylosing spondylitis, a type of inflammatory arthritis that primarily affects the spine. Researchers will measure levels of three immune proteins (IL-17, IL-38, IL-41) and the HLA-B27 gene in 84 participants—half with the condition and half healthy controls. The goal is to see if these measurements differ between groups and relate to disease activity, which could help future diagnosis and treatment development.
